Part resort, part playground, this 2,200-acre escape in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands is privately owned by the Hardy family. Golfers will appreciate the two championship courses and high-tech academy, while wellness enthusiasts will want to head straight to the holistic healing center led by in-house Chinese medicine expert Dr. Jerry Lin. Active travelers and families will want to take advantage of the 18-hole mini-golf course, whitewater rafting, bowling, axe throwing, horseback riding, and wildlife safaris. There’s even a vintage car showroom and a casino (and that’s not even half of it).
Accommodations span from the Parisian-style Château to the all-suite Grand Lodge and Art Deco-inspired Falling Rock, while kids (and grown-ups) go wild for The Peak—complete with pools, paintball, a swim-up bar, and a ropes course. Expect butler-serviced rooms with high-tech controls and Japanese toilets, a jazz club with Moulin Rouge-style performances, and world-class dining.

This laidback but elevated coastal retreat was designed by Icelandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir. The hotel channels “sand chic” through sun-washed textures, terracotta tones, and sculptural details that bring the indoors and outdoors into perfect flow. Rooms are breezy and elegant, with soft neutrals, geometric mirrors, and natural materials that are designed to ignite all five senses and ease you into your own private coastal rhythm.
Head straight to the shore—there’s direct beach access and a complimentary gear station stocked with chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. Marelle, the signature restaurant, is a stunning, semi-open-air space with Oaxacan ceramic pendants and a coastal menu that swings from crudo to ribeye, courtesy of Santa Monica native Chef Raphael Lunetta. Saturdays bring “Ceramics by the Pool,” a fan-favorite pottery class from the hotel’s artist-in-residence.

Hotel Café Royal is opulent, serene, and discreet. In the heart of it all—steps from Piccadilly, Soho, and Mayfair—yet hushed and polished behind its Air Street entrance. A 770-pound Murano-glass chandelier in the lobby sets the tone for a hotel once frequented by Oscar Wilde, David Bowie, Churchill, and Princess Diana.
The vibe is understated elegance—until you hit the glam dining and drinking spots. There’s pastries at Cake & Bubbles, a two-Michelin-Star experience at Alex Dilling, exceptional cocktails at Green Bar, and contemporary British fare, not to mention award-winning afternoon tea, at Café Royal Grill. Downstairs, the Akasha Spa, named one of London’s best spas, is a sanctuary with a marble hammam, candlelit pool, and London’s only Watsu pool.

Hotel Washington couldn’t be more ideally located for exploring DC—it’s on the same block as the White House lawn and an easy walk from the Washington Monument. The hotel channels quiet luxury; it’s the perfect sightseeing basecamp, putting you close to all the major monuments and museums without sacrificing style or service.
The lobby has a salon-like buzz, with checkerboard tiles, velvet sofas, and gilded mirrors nodding to old-world glamour. Upstairs, cherry blossom headboards and oversized murals add a bold pop to the otherwise minimalist rooms and suites. VUE Rooftop is the go-to for sunset cocktails with sweeping views of the White House, Washington Monument, and the National Mall. Downstairs, Fireclay does American Classics for breakfast and lunch, with a big focus on Power Lunch, a DC classic.

A Belle Époque beauty on the Tuscan Riviera, Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte has been drawing royals, opera legends, and golden-age glitterati to the Tuscan coast since 1922. Today, it’s all about contemporary glamour—think rooftop infinity pool, views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and interiors by top Florentine artisans. Most rooms come with a sea view and balconies that catch that magical coastal light, while the Presidential Suite (designed by Stefano Ricci) channels a modern-day Great Gatsby.
The real star, though, is the food. Chef Giuseppe Mancino has earned two Michelin Stars for Il Piccolo Principe, the only restaurant on the Riviera with that distinction. Mornings are just as epic: The hotel’s breakfast is a parade of sushi, oysters, crêpes Suzette, ramen and Pata Negra—dubbed the Best Breakfast in Italy by Food & Wine Italia Awards for good reason.

The perfect Parisian cocoon tucked between the Louvre and the Opéra, Le Roch Hotel & Spa nails that elusive Parisian elegance—effortless, confident, and quietly cool. Interior designer Sarah Lavoine, a local icon, brings her signature moody palette and rich textures to this 37-room hideaway, with deep velvets, Carrara marble, and Moroccan tile underfoot. The subterranean spa is a secret worth knowing, home to a black-lava stone pool with a near-hidden passageway to the hammam. Rooms come with plush beds, Marshall speakers, and Kaldewei tubs; some have private hammams and even wine cellars. The courtyard garden and cocktail bar are favourites among locals, too.
