Las Vegas is all about going big — big lights, big shows, big fun. But that doesn’t mean you need a big hotel budget to keep up. Whether you’re there to cash in at the slots, feast on world-class dining or dance until dawn, there’s more to Vegas than bright lights and blackjack. From hidden speakeasies to immersive art and even a desert adventure, the city always has an ace up its sleeve.
Here’s how to soak up all the Vegas energy without spending it all on your hotel stay. (Prices fluctuate with events and peak seasons, but if you’re flexible, you can score serious deals at some of the Strip’s best stays).

Aria stands out with its sleek glass exterior and elevated, luxe vibe. While it’s smack in the middle of the action of the Strip, it offers an unexpected sense of calm the moment you step inside. With some of the coolest restaurants on the Strip — think Bardot, Carbone, Jean-Georges Steakhouse, Cathédrale and Catch — it’s a foodie’s dream. Plus, the spa here is one of the best in the city, featuring heated stone beds imported from Japan. Think of it as a more refined, grown-up counterpart to The Cosmopolitan — but still packed with plenty of fun.

Conrad Las Vegas sits on the quieter north end of the Strip — close to the action but with a little more breathing room. As part of the massive Resorts World complex, the hotel has everything under one roof: 50+ dining options, a sprawling pool scene (including an adults-only infinity pool) and bold artwork around every corner. The Famous Foods Street Eats market brings global flavors, from hand-rolled sushi to Nashville hot chicken. Thoughtfully designed and refreshingly spacious, Conrad delivers style, substance and great value. Fun fact: It’s home to the Strip’s first fully vegan restaurant.

Vdara Hotel & Spa ditches the typical Vegas casino scene for something more serene. This non-smoking, casino-free resort is perfect for those who love the energy of the Strip but prefer a peaceful place to recharge. Every room is a spacious suite, complete with a kitchenette, dining table and a fridge you can actually use. The award-winning spa is set over two floors and a destination in itself. High-tech perks include robot butlers, Jett and Fetch, who deliver room service, and if you’re lucky, a high-floor suite might score you partial views of the Bellagio fountains. Plus, with Aria connected next door, the casino is never far away.

Las Vegas gets a dose of Miami glam with the debut of Fontainebleau, Vegas’ tallest hotel and a dazzling homage to its iconic sister property. Opened in December 2023, this long-awaited chic resort supersizes midcentury Miami style with soaring ceilings, gold and blue accents and floor-to-ceiling windows framing mountain or Strip views. Hidden bow tie motifs nod to the original, while standout dining includes Mother Wolf’s Roman fare and Papi Steak’s clubby Miami vibes. Bleau Bar serves cocktails 24/7 beneath a crystal bow-tie chandelier and the two-story Lapis Spa takes relaxation to the next level with an infrared sauna, salt cave and even a snow shower. Get in while you can — rates won’t stay this good for long.

The Cosmopolitan is where Vegas’ cool, young crowd comes to play. Its sexy, chandelier-clad lobby sets the tone, and the rooms — some of the only ones on the Strip with open-air terraces — match the vibe. Dining is top-tier, from José Andrés’ é to the wild, multi-sensory fun of Superfrico. Cocktails are just as legendary, whether at the three-story Chandelier Bar or the hidden speakeasy inside a barbershop. The pool scene is pure Vegas glam, with DJs, cabanas and sweeping views of the Strip. Add a world-class spa, a glitzy casino and unbeatable people-watching, and you’ve got a hotel that’s as much a scene as it is a stay.

Only in Vegas could the Four Seasons feel almost rebellious. A gaming-free sanctuary in a city built on excess, it trades neon and noise for understated luxury and flawless service. Tucked into the top floors of Mandalay Bay, it has its own entrance, lobby and serene pool — worlds away from the frenzy. Rooms, refreshed in Art Deco style, start at a spacious 800 square feet, packed with thoughtful touches like luxe minibars and in-mirror TVs. The pool scene is all about cucumber slices and Evian spritzes, not DJs and daybeds. It’s the splurge of the list, but for five-star Vegas without the chaos, it’s worth every penny.
