We’ll be honest. We’ve been recommending & sending clients to Lou Pinet for a while. But visiting in person for the first time as part of our South of France trip this month? It took us completely by surprise. Not because it wasn’t what we expected. But because it was so much more.
This is the hotel that makes Saint Tropez feel calm. And if you know Saint Tropez, you’ll understand exactly what an achievement that is.
From the moment you pull up, something just feels different.
The colours of the entrance hut as you drive in are bright, gorgeous and completely unexpected against the most beautiful greenery draped across the building. Staff are waiting outside to take your bags before you’ve even stepped out of the car. The calmness of it all hits you immediately.
That’s the thing about Lou Pinet. It doesn’t try too hard. And that’s exactly what makes it so special.
Saint Tropez in peak season is a lot. Lou Pinet is the complete opposite. A sanctuary. A place entirely focused on protecting your peace from the moment you arrive.

Lou Pinet is small. Deliberately, beautifully small. And that’s entirely the point.
Walking around it feels less like a hotel and more like arriving at a very beautiful private villa. There’s no sense of being overrun. No noise from the streets below. Just gorgeous aesthetics, lush gardens and a team who clearly understand that the guests here come specifically for the calm.
And they take that seriously.
During our stay, the pool area had temporarily been set up for a one-off pop-up with Frankie Bikini’s with a different branded setup. I was very excited to see it as the social media team did a fabulous job teasing the content. It looked incredible. When we mentioned it to the management team they were very clear. This is not something they do regularly and are unlikely to ever bring in a permanent collaboration like some of the other hotels & beach clubs in the area. They like to keep it simple, exclusive and calm. That’s why guests come back year after year.
By the following morning the pool had been returned to its classic setup and honestly it was a real treat to see both. But the classic Lou Pinet wins for me every time.

I stayed in the Walk-In Deluxe room and I was blown away from the moment I opened the door.
A bungalow feel, set directly off the grass area beside the pool. Huge French doors letting in the most beautiful light. Spacious bathroom stocked with Diptyque products, my absolute favourite when I’m travelling in France. The softest, fluffiest towels I have ever experienced in a hotel. We later found out they’re a special order for the property and honestly, I need to find a way of sourcing them.
Light colours throughout. Beautiful fabric textures. A great seating area that was perfect for unwinding after a busy day in Saint Tropez. Everything felt styled without being overdone.
What I will say though, and this is something we discovered during our property walkround, is that every room type here offers something genuinely different. The starting rooms tucked around the back, each with their own little private garden, were absolutely outstanding. I’m honestly not sure which I preferred. The suites are gorgeous and the adjoining options are brilliant for larger groups or families. There really is a room here for everyone, which for such a small boutique property is quite the achievement.

We did Saint Tropez straight after check-in and the hotel concierge made the whole thing effortless.
The concierge at Lou Pinet can get you in anywhere. And we mean anywhere. The shuttle service runs in immaculate Mercedes vans, spotless and prepared with everything you need including baby car seats if required, dropping you right in the centre or wherever you want to be. Or if you want to explore yourself, rent the hotels branded Mini Moke for the day.
We spent the afternoon strolling through the town, starting with lunch at the iconic Senquier on the harbour front. One of those lunches that stretches into the afternoon without anyone minding. From there we wandered into the boutiques, I won’t go into detail on that, we all know Saint Tropez has some of the most iconic boutiques in the world. We then headed to the shore to watch the yachts in the distance. Then back to the hotel to unwind and get ready for Beefbar.
It was, by any measure, a perfect afternoon.

Beefbar at Lou Pinet is one of those concepts that could easily feel like a gimmick.
It is absolutely not a gimmick.
We dined inside as it was still slightly cooler being early in the season, and from the moment we sat down the atmosphere was just right. Buzzy, warm and inclusive with both guests and locals filling the room. Lou Pinet rosé flowing. The emoji adorned tableware that makes you smile before you’ve even looked at the menu.
We shared multiple plates between us before ordering a dish each and everything was outstanding. The quality, the service, the flavour. We genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing.
The outside terrace is something else entirely. Twinkling lights strung through ancient olive trees, the night air warm and still. At weekends they bring in entertainment which adds a lovely energy without ever feeling out of place for the property.
We will go back specifically for Beefbar. We’d go back tomorrow if we could.

The spa at Lou Pinet has a wonderful sense of arrival all of its own. Downstairs, with a grotto feel as you enter , cool, calm and completely removed from the world above. Small but absolutely everything you need. The gym is well equipped and the treatment rooms are beautifully styled.
But the detail that really got us? The welcome amenity in the room on arrival, a collagen sachet and face mask waiting in the bathroom. After a long day of travel or an afternoon in Saint Tropez, it’s the most thoughtful gift to find. They’re also available to purchase in the spa throughout your stay.
It’s the small touches that completely enhance your stay & experience.

Lou Pinet has their own branded rosé and we can vouch for it completely.
Pale, dry and ice cold. Everything a Provençal rosé should be. It was flowing throughout our entire stay and we have absolutely no complaints about that whatsoever.

The staff at Lou Pinet are exceptional. Warm, natural and completely at ease. That family feel you simply cannot fake and cannot train.
But there was one detail that completely won us over.
Some of the Lou Pinet team spend their winters at Le Coucou, the Maison Pariente family’s sister property in Méribel. Which means guests who are loyal to Maisons Pariente get to know the same faces across different seasons. The relationships follow you from the mountains in winter to the Riviera in summer.
It’s the kind of detail that separates a good hotel group from a truly great one.
We had never considered Lou Pinet as a family destination.
Saint Tropez, boutique, French Riviera luxury. It just didn’t immediately read that way.
But watching the team look after the young families staying during our visit completely changed our thinking. The shuttles arrive prepared with everything needed. The adjoining room and suite options work brilliantly for families or multi-generational groups. And the team navigate that balance, keeping the calm and sanctuary feel for every single guest, with complete ease.
It works because the property is small enough that nothing ever feels chaotic. We’ll absolutely be recommending Lou Pinet to clients travelling with young children from now on.

Lou Pinet feels like one large, very beautiful private villa where you happen to be looked after exceptionally well.
Never overrun. Gorgeous throughout. A real sense of calm and understated luxury that starts the moment you arrive and stays with you long after you leave.
We’re already planning a return visit. That’s the most honest review we can give.

This is where we come in.

New London hotels are popping up constantly right now, but nothing excites us more at WeGalavant than a new boutique opening done well. The Newman is exactly that , quietly confident, beautifully designed, and already buzzing with all the right people. But it’s not just a hotel. It’s somewhere locals come to eat, drink, socialise […]
