Crystal, which was acquired by the luxury tour company Abercrombie & Kent, has always led the charge in luxury cruising. Following the recent renovation of their two all-suite ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, the level of luxe has been dialed up even further. Expect spacious cabins, bathrooms bedecked in Alpine marble (as in, literally sourced from the Alps) and gourmet dining. Don’t miss the Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant Umi Uma, helmed by Nobu’s chef Nobuyki Matsuhisa. Plus, all room categories come with a private butler, and the overall guest-to-crew ratio is nearly 1:1. Translation? The service is stellar — warm, attentive and hyper-personalised.

Tuscany’s Maremma coast is an under-the-radar gem. Considering Italy’s pervasive popularity, it’s best to keep it that way. Venture off-the-beaten-path and stay at Cala Beach Resort, a luxury property in Punta Ala, a small coastal town in Maremma. The resort feels exclusive and elevated. The spacious rooms and suites are breezy and bright, with tasteful pops of color and a coastal serenity. You can spend all day at or near the resort — there are beachfront cabanas, tennis and padel courts, watersports and more. But the hotel’s excellent concierge can also arrange excursions like olive oil tastings in Lucca and Pisa, boat tours of Elba and art-viewing in the medieval town of Montalcino (complete with a Michelin-Starred lunch, no less).

Bill & Coo’s first property, Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge, is conveniently located a short walk from Mykonos Town. The nearby Bill & Coo Villas takes the original’s sleek Greek minimalism and applies it to roomier accommodations. For an especially intimate and exclusive stay, head to the adults-only Bill & Coo Coast Suites, which sits on the gorgeous Agios Ioannis beach, a seven-minute drive from the Lounge. Wherever you stay, you’ll be treated to locally sourced Greek dining and exclusive access to the hotel’s private Bill & Coo Beach (a big deal in Mykonos!).
Our Perks:
Image courtesy of Viceroy Los Cabos
Mexican architect Miguel Ángel Aragonés is behind the clean, modern design of this art-filled hotel. Rooms and suites are tastefully sparse, intended to blur the line between the indoors and outdoors. The resort’s stylish modernism is augmented by an expertly curated collection of art displayed throughout the property, in addition to in the on-site art gallery. The latter hosts regular workshops and art classes.
When you’re not relaxing by one of Viceroy’s five pools (including an adults-only rooftop pool), you’ll likely find yourself being pampered in the 11,000-square-foot spa, cruising around on a complimentary bike rental or indulging in Mexican cuisine — from street-style tacos to fresh ceviche — at the resort’s slew of dining options.
Our Perks:

Staying at any Firmdale hotel is akin to staying in a magical, beautifully appointed dollhouse. Designer Kit Kemp imbues her spaces with meticulously sourced art, bright colours and patterns, whimsical eclecticism and British sophistication. Each property is a veritable art gallery, which is especially true of the brand’s four recent inductees. The Whitby Hotel, Crosby Street Hotel and Firmdale’s newest gem, Warren Street Hotel, are all in New York. Stay at the Whitby for proximity to Central Park and Midtown’s iconic museums and attractions. Fashion lovers and hip travelers with a particular love of shopping should prioritize SoHo’s Crosby Street Hotel. For an especially local, intimate and effortlessly cool downtown moment, TriBeCa’s new Warren Street Hotel is the obvious choice.
Over in London, you’ll find the posh Ham Yard Hotel, located on a charming tree-lined thoroughfare. When you’re not exploring the neighborhood’s boutiques and shops, make sure to visit the hotel’s on-site bowling alley. (Ham Yard Hotel is also the only Firmdale property with its own on-site spa.)
Our Perks:

This 18-room gem of a hotel straddles Paris’ hip Haut-Marais and Beaubourg neighborhoods, and is steps away from the Canal Saint Martin. You’ll feel like a savvy local. Each of the rooms is uniquely designed, and all are filled with bold patterns, luxe fabrics and vintage furniture. Plus, each comes with a mini cocktail bar, complete with a built-in ice maker. The on-site restaurant is luxuriously discreet, and serves wood-fired cuisine in a handsome, cozy bistro space equipped with a fireplace and piano bar. When the weather is nice, savor your organic oeufs mimosa and baba au rhum in the garden.
