Live out your French countryside dreams at the newly opened Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay. The immense family estate turned chic country getaway is a mere 45 minutes outside of Paris, but feels worlds away. Expect grand, stone-studded façades, sumptuous fabrics, antique or custom furniture, sprawling grounds and an authentic majesty — the result of nearly a millennium of history. (One of the former owners, Baroness Charlotte de Rothschild, had Chopin as a piano teacher.)
Our Perks:

If you’ve been to San Antonio, you’re familiar with the city’s vibrant art scene, charm and palpable energy. It feels like a well-kept secret. InterContinental’s newest arrival, right on San Antonio’s Riverwalk (the place to be) is a celebration of the city it calls home. Pops of colour complement a neutral palette, while brass, leather, marble and wood round out the edges. The concierge — members of the esteemed Les Clefs d’Or — is the best of the best. Inside, peruse local, artisanal products in the concierge gallery, then head outside to explore all San Antonio has to offer (including the Alamo, which is within walking distance).

October means Oktoberfest, but you need not venture to Germany to experience the festivities. Instead, consider Maine. Auberge’s New England-chic White Barn Inn will be celebrating the storied fall festival from the 10th to the 13th. The weekend will be filled with autumnal meals, mulled cider and doughnuts around a bonfire, a pumpkin-carving class, fall-y cocktails and live music by the pool and the traditional lowering of the pumpkin — the Maine-grown gourd weighs over 1,000 pounds, and needs a crane to get the job done.
Our Perks:

Rome Art Week runs from October 21 to 26, and if ever there was a perfect hotel to experience the city-wide event, it’s Palazzo Ripetta. The hotel is basically a living, breathing art museum, and regularly collaborates with local artists. Notable works from the likes of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Giacomo Manzù and Sveva Angeletti populate the beautifully curated, unapologetically Italian interiors. During RAW, the hotel is as involved as they come, showing extra love to local, emerging artists.
Our Perks:

All Almanac properties are local haunts, where savvy urbanites meet and linger. The effortlessly cool, hip Almanac x Alcron Prague is no exception, and their Euro-chic coffee shop, Elias, makes it especially easy to do so. Czech artist Jan Bican — who has collaborated with Puma, Rita Ora, Forbes, Machine Gun Kelly, and other notable names — left his bold, playful mark on the shop’s front-facing window in August. He’ll change the display as the seasons and moods change throughout the rest of the year, as part of the ongoing exhibition, Homecoming 25.
Our Perks:

Fall is the perfect time to head down to southern California, and Balboa Bay Resort, in Newport Beach, is the perfect place to stay. You’ll love the sophisticated, nautical décor and easy glamor — a remnant of the original Balboa Bay Club’s status as a magnet for Hollywood stars like Clark Gable and Lauren Bacall. Activities — from kayak tours and art exploration to shopping and theme parks — abound. If you need help deciding, the hotel’s stellar concierge will arrange any and everything.

The 48-room Gran Hotel Inglés brings discreet, boutique luxury to Madrid. The hotel has been around since the late 19th century, and is as timeless as ever. The décor is posh and elegant, with sophisticated details like hardwood floors, rich textures, bronze and glass. Plus, the location is prime. Staying here puts you in the thick of the action, in the Spanish capital’s bustling Barrio de las Letras.
