New London hotels are popping up constantly right now, but nothing excites us more at WeGalavant than a new boutique opening done well.
The Newman is exactly that , quietly confident, beautifully designed, and already buzzing with all the right people. But it’s not just a hotel. It’s somewhere locals come to eat, drink, socialise and switch off and that’s what gives it an edge.
Tucked just off Oxford Street in Fitzrovia, it sits perfectly between the polish of Marylebone and the buzz of Soho , close enough to everything you need, but with enough distance to feel like you’re escaping the city rush.
From the moment you step out of the taxi, everything just works. The door is opened, luggage is whisked away, and the reception team instantly make you feel at ease.
And that’s the thing about The Newman , it doesn’t try too hard. That’s exactly what makes it so special.
Very few properties manage to strike that balance of feeling both luxurious and completely relaxed, but The Newman does it effortlessly.
The ground floor focuses around the lounge, and Brasserie Angelica, creating that all day atmosphere.
Design wise, think Art Deco with a modern edge , warm woods, deep tones and soft lighting that makes everyone look good. It’s not intimidating or loud, just quietly cool.
It feels considered, lived in, the kind of place you pop into for a coffee and somehow end up staying all day finishing in The Gambit Bar.

I stayed in a Deluxe Double and honestly, I was sold the second I saw the dreamy window seat.
London hotels don’t always get rooms right. Space can feel tight, and it’s often a trade off between style and comfort. Here, it’s neither.
The Newman’s 81 rooms strike that rare balance: calm, spacious (by London standards), and beautifully thought through.
Everything feels intentional, from the underfloor heating in the bathroom, to the Anatome shower products, to the minibar and pillow menu. It’s one of those stays where everything just works.
I genuinely didn’t want to leave.
And then there’s the penthouse , in a league of its own. A private terrace, sauna, cold plunge, day beds… and available for exclusive hire for events.
Que us already mentally drafting the guest list for an event.

Even this early on, The Newman’s food and drink offering has made its mark in the city.
Brasserie Angelica is your go to all-day spot for relaxed but wow food, with more eateries set to follow in the near future.

But the real showstopper? The Gambit Bar.

Hidden below ground, it’s moody, glamorous and full of energy. Expect exceptional cocktails (I can personally vouch for the margaritas), low lighting, live music and a crowd that makes you want to stay all night.
It’s already one of London’s most in demand spots , so if you’re staying, we will book you a table when we confirm your reservation.
If you’re anything like us, hotel spas can go one of two ways , an afterthought, or the reason you extend your stay.
At The Newman, it’s the latter.
An entire floor is dedicated to wellness, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, ice lounge and a salt therapy room, alongside beautifully designed treatment spaces and a full class schedule for both guests and locals.
When I visited, I had it completely to myself , a rarity in London.
It’s the kind of space you’ll want to build your stay around.

What makes The Newman stand out isn’t just the design or the rooms , it’s the feeling it gives you.
There’s a real sense of calm throughout the entire stay. Every team member I encountered was a credit to the hotel.
It feels polished, but not pretentious. Luxurious, but still relaxed.
And most importantly? It’s somewhere we feel completely confident recommending to our clients, whether it’s a first London trip, a long weekend or a staycation done right.

Iceland feels like a destination in constant motion, where fire and ice shape nearly every experience. Dramatic waterfalls, expansive glaciers, and black-sand beaches are landscape highlights. Reykjavík is the cultural anchor, pairing geothermal pools and walkable neighborhoods. Beyond the capital, road trips past volcanoes, glacier hiking, and watching whales breach offshore are just the start. […]
