Design wise, think Art Deco with a modern edge , warm woods, deep tones and soft lighting that makes everyone look good. It’s not intimidating or loud, just quietly cool.
It feels considered, lived in, the kind of place you pop into for a coffee and somehow end up staying all day finishing in The Gambit Bar.
The Rooms At The Newman
I stayed in a Deluxe Double and honestly, I was sold the second I saw the dreamy window seat.
London hotels don’t always get rooms right. Space can feel tight, and it’s often a trade off between style and comfort. Here, it’s neither.
The Newman’s 81 rooms strike that rare balance: calm, spacious (by London standards), and beautifully thought through.
Everything feels intentional, from the underfloor heating in the bathroom, to the Anatome shower products, to the minibar and pillow menu. It’s one of those stays where everything just works.
I genuinely didn’t want to leave.

Even this early on, The Newman’s food and drink offering has made its mark in the city.
Brasserie Angelica is your go to all-day spot for relaxed but wow food, with more eateries set to follow in the near future.
But the real showstopper? The Gambit Bar.
Hidden below ground, it’s moody, glamorous and full of energy. Expect exceptional cocktails (I can personally vouch for the margaritas), low lighting, live music and a crowd that makes you want to stay all night.

The Newman Spa & Wellness Floor
